Working primarily in transparent watercolor, Karen
uses a loose, impressionistic style of painting. she
always attempts to suggest, rather than render an exact
likeness of her observations of life. Karen's paintings
represent the architecture, landscape, animals, and
people of Key West. A large percentage of her work is
done "en plein air", where she regularly is challenged
by local roosters, cats and dogs for her supplies.
In addition to her artwork, Karen is an instructor
for the local art community both at the Key West Art
Center and the Studios of Key West. She teaches a weekly
watercolor class for all skill levels, as well as a
three day workshop for beginning painters. For a
