Brought into this world kicking and screaming hundreds
of years ago photographer Larry Blackburn continues to
live his life with the same zeal and energy that he
started it with. A native Floridian, Larry was swept up
into the world of photography at the young age of 14 and
has never looked back. Encouraged by the fact that his
parents recognized this passion they made certain that
he always had some type of camera in his hand.
Discovering the Florida Keys and Key West in 1975
changed Larry’s life forever. It did not take long for
Larry to realize that the Keys were where he needed to
be but it would not be until years later that he would
be able to make the move to Key West and fulfill what
obviously was his destiny.
Larry specializes in a broad range of photography styles
and his award winning photographs have been featured in
publications around the world from travel publications
in Europe to the New York Times, Miami Herald and the
Washington Post. An avid supporter of the LGBT
community you will find his work published in some of
the most important LGBT media of our time such as The
Advocate, the Washington Blaze, and The South Florida
Gay News to name just a few.
Larry’s passion and love of the keys and their residents
shows in each image captured. From the amazing vistas,
quirky and unique personalities, to unsurpassed and
unequaled architecture, every image provides you with a
sense of the serenity in the keys and allows you to have
that serenity with you always.
