Originally from North Carolina, Deborah moved to Key west in 2000 after years of visiting.  With her creative and colorful strokes, she captures the vibrant and sun drenched scenes, lazy afternoons and simple and charming personalities of such favorite places as Key West, Pawley's Island, Charleston and Havana.

Deborah is a graduate of Louisburg College and was a student of The Art Instruction Schools.  She has studied under many well-known instructors including Key Austin,  Sanford Birdsey, Priscilla Coote, Anne Salisbury, Mike Rooney and Judy Crane, and is a former member of the Florida Watercolor Society and the North Carolina Watercolor Society.  She presently concentrates on watercolors, acrylics and oils of Key West scenes and paints plein air whenever possible.  She has sold paintings throughout the US and Europe, and has contributed many works to Stand Up For Animals, Habitat for Humanity, The Aids Foundation, The Anne McKee Artists Fund, Art Behind Bars and The Learning Foundation.

Her work has been shown at Wake Visual Arts and The Contemporary Gallery in Raleigh, NC. In Key West she has shown at The Key West Artist Market, Pineapple Gallery, The Lighthouse Museum, The Custom House Museum, SoDu Gallery (1st place in watercolors at the 2007 "From A Woman's Hand Show"), The Studios of Key West, Island Arts Co-op, Stone Soup Gallery and Island Wynds.
